Project

Burndawan Website Design

A resource created for Aboriginal people who would like information or support about harmful behaviours from a partner or family member.

Brief

The Burndawan Project comes from the work done with researchers at the University of Melbourne and the Wadawurrung community (or Wathaurong community) of the Kulin Nations. The research team approached me to design the Visuals and UI of the website after I had completed the logo and branding.

Solution

We started with indigenous community forums and feedback on what they would like to gather from the website and which colours and symbols they would like to avoid and which ones they would like to use.

Once these had been determined, I started on the basic template designs, and when these had been completed and signed off, we designed the rest of the site, whilst working in an aglie manner alongside the developers and researchers to refine the User Interface and Visuals to improve the usability and retention of the website. Now the website has been launched, we'll share the website with the wider community for any further user testing and improvements.
